This is a photo by my dad (Jerry Yankee) when I was about 10. Bibi was a Great Horned Owl who simply moved in one day. He must have been raised by someone and kicked out when he got too big. He lived in our house for a year or so until we could finally entice him to move outside.
He went through a stage of being outdoors during the day but coming in at night (weird, no?) But then we'd hear a higher-pitched "person" saying hoo-HOO-hoo-hoo and he'd reply in his lower voice. Not long after, he was gone. It was Spring after all, and he'd found true love.
